Headed by Edward Snape, Fiery Angel is a theatre production company that produces and presents drama, musicals and event theatre in the West End and on tour throughout the United Kingdom and internationally.
The 39 Steps is currently in its sixth year at the Criterion Theatre in London's West End and last year completed a three year run in New York. The play has been presented in over 40 territories worldwide to date and has won several awards, including an Olivier Award for Best New Comedy in 2007, two Tony Awards for the Broadway production in 2008 and a Moliere in Paris, 2010.
Our latest production, the smash-hit comedy The Ladykillers, is showing at the Gielgud Theatre, where it broke the house record in December 2011, taking just under £400,000 at the box office in one week.
Alongside the success of The 39 Steps and The Ladykillers, Fiery Angel is presenting Bristol Old Vic's production of Swallows and Amazons in the West End and on tour throughout 2012 as part of the Children's Touring Partnership. This partnership between Fiery Angel and Chichester Festival Theatre follows their acclaimed production of Goodnight Mister Tom, for which there are West End plans in the autumn of 2012.
Fiery Angel also has a particular interest in developing and producing theatre for younger audiences. Recent productions include stage adaptations of the hit television series LazyTown, Roald Dahl's The BFG, and Peppa Pig's Party which toured throughout the UK in 2010/11 including a sell-out Christmas 2010 run in the West End. The new Peppa show, Peppa Pigs Treasure Hunt opened in autumn 2011 and tours throughout 2012 including a West End Christmas season.
Forthcoming productions include a return to the West End for Me and My Girl, and the premiere of Patrick Barlow's Ben Hur (with a cast of four).
Previous Drama includes: Frederick Knott's Dial M for Murder, directed by Lucy Bailey (UK Tour); the transfer of the RSC's Tynan, starring the late Corin Redgrave (West End); David Mamet's Oleanna, starring Aaron Eckhart and Julia Stiles (West End); and Martin McDonagh's Olivier Award-winning comedy The Lieutenant of Inishmore (UK Tour).
Previous Musical Theatre includes: Me and My Girl (UK Tour & Sheffield Crucible); several sell-out seasons with cabaret sensations Fascinating Aida (London & New York); and an Andalusian Flamenco version of Carmen from Seville (Sadler's Wells).
In addition to heading Fiery Angel, Edward has recently launched Fiery Dragons Ltd, a new theatre production company, which is a co-producing partner of The Ladykillers. He is also a co-founder of one of the West End's largest independent ticketing agencies, The Ticket Machine Group, which includes Lovetheatre.com, Group Line and Leisure Connect in New York.
